Hello all the Renault 9 and 11 lovers, sorry I don’t speak Turkish, only French, Spanish and English. I live in the south of France, I will introduce you my AMC Renault Alliance convertible, this is a 1986 model, it came from an AMC Renault Dealer from Pennsylvania, USA. This model is equipped with cruise control, 4 power windows, power convertible top, power lock, power steering, air conditioning, full option except the automatic transaxle. My car is moved by an 1,7 liters F3N engine, with a throttle body fuel injection.
My car need a new paint. I've just replaced the soft top by a black one, as it was in 1986.
This car was made in the AMC front lake plant, in Kenosha Wisconsin, USA. More information in my website http://renault-alliance.dyndns.org

It doesn't matter whether you speak Turkish or not . English is a global language everybody knows . Wow , a really nice car for a 1986 model . As you've mentioned , the car you have owned were produced for American market . From the front view it is really similar to American cars of that age . I liked the stop lights and bumpers . They are so different and impossible to find in our country . These cars are really well-equipped in contrast to our Renault 9s produced in Turkey . In my 1996 model Renault 9 Fairway which has a 1600 cc. engine (Argentine production) , 92bhp (SAE) , there is no cruise-control , air conditioning , power steering and fuel injection ; it has only two power windows , it is a hardtop not a convertible , has four doors , power lock , and manual gear . Your car is so far better than mine although it is a 1986 model . Really, I'm jealous of you .

In the interior , the steering wheel is the same ,the indicators are alike , however everywhere is red inside . Is that leather furnished ? In my opinion, it is really dazzling . Thank you, as you said, some parts are very difficult to find, I already replaced the power steering rack and pump, these parts not available in France, I find them in USA. The interior is "garnet" cloth, not leather. The engine is not well powered, because of the catalyc converter, I don't remember exactly how many HP, but less than an F2N or European F3N engine.

Really interesting as you have mentioned , but as far as I know Renault engines were used for De Loreans. A rust proof car, almost completely made of steel and heavy of course. And a dreadful petrol consumption .
I don't know much about De Loreans , all I know are these above . Maybe Safranc can give us some information about De Loreans.

as for the power side of things , you can always swap the
standard engine you got there with another/more powerful
F series engine from renault i.e : f3p / f7p / f7r / f4r /f5r etc

The picture of the Alliance with the DeLorean DMC 12 where taken on an rendez-vous betwen the Renault Alliance Club and the DeLorean Stainless Wings club this summer. You're right volkan, the DeLorean where powered by the V6 PRV Engine, this car was made in Ireland, between 1981 and 1983, only 9170 car were manufactured.
About the Engine, Schakal, sure I can replace my F3N by a more powerfull engine, but I really want to keep this car in the original equipment, (the 1987 GTA convertible was powered by the F3R engine).

Thanks for your comments in the garage section , Safranc . Only Renault 9 Broadway was produced until the year 2000 . Production of Renault 11 ended in 1995 . The latest produced R9 can be called as Phase 3 is different from our cars . It has more modern lines but accessories are nearly the same . I will try to find its photos from outside or from the internet , then you can comment on it . May be our moderator can send the photos but I'm not sure .

No , the 1600cc engine was developed in Argentine but my car is a Turkish production.

The 1600 cc R9 engine was improved in Argentine by Renault engineers from the 1400 cc R9 Broadway engine . And this engine was used on Turkish R9 Fairways between the years 1994-1996 as well as on Argentine R9s . It is no longer used now , cos fuel consumption is higher than 1400cc engine . You know fuel prices are fairly high in Turkey. But 1600cc engine is 12hp stronger than 1400cc engine . So fuel consumption is normal in my opinion . I reached 180 kms p/h with my car on the motorway and this speed is high for most R9s . I'm pleased with the engine and trying to keep my car original as you do .

I know that C2L engine is 80 hp(DIN) and C2J engine is 72 hp(DIN),so it is 8hp stronger than C2J.

And also C2L engine is used in R11 Rainbows.

It is usual because R9 has pruduced until 2000,and OYAK-Renault must produce spare parts for this cars for ten years.Our cars guaranted until 2010 for spare parts;)

Oh , I have given (SAE) values not (DIN) . 1400cc engine is 80hp (SAE) and 1600cc engine is 92hp (SAE) . If we convert into (DIN) then you are right 1400cc is 72hp (DIN) , 1600cc is 80hp (DIN) . Thanks for your correction .
